Halleloo! We guess it’s not such a bad thing to touch ourselves… and touch ourselves… and touch ourselves!
Jack Dunhill of IFL Science writes,”Researchers from Harvard University released a recent study, published in European Urology, that suggests men who climax 21 times or more per month may have their chances of prostate cancer slashed by up to a third.”
Of course there are other factors determining your chances of prostate cancer, but in the who knows? The wise words of Dunhill conclude, “So go ahead gentlemen, do your thing—for your health, of course.”
The theory behind why frequent ejaculation offers protective benefits comes down to what urologists often call the “prostate clearance” hypothesis. Your prostate’s primary job is manufacturing the fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. Over time, potentially harmful chemical secretions, micro-calcifications, and cellular debris can build up in the prostatic fluid. Flushing the pipes regularly — whether solo or with a partner — acts like a routine biological oil change, theoretically clearing out stagnation before cellular damage or chronic inflammation can take root.
That said, while clocking 21 or more sessions a month sounds like the most enjoyable preventive medicine on earth, it’s not an invincibility cloak. Factors like family genetics, lifestyle, age, and systemic inflammation still play massive roles in overall prostate health. Think of regular release as one very fun, zero-cost lifestyle habit in a larger toolkit that should always include regular checkups, baseline PSA tracking as you enter your 40s and 50s, and staying attuned to how your body feels. In the meantime, you officially have clinical backing to clear your evening schedule.
