Decoding His Chat: What He Says and What He Means

Chats are still where it’s at. Grindr, Hornet, Scruff, Adam4Adam, Planet Romeo, OKCupid, Match, Growlr, Blued, Recon, Daddyhunt, Jack’d, SilverDaddies, Tinder… How many apps are you on? The BB Team knows them all, or at least knows of them! What we don’t know is what the words mean behind the chats.

This short article by Australian sexual health and wellbeing site Emen8 was so on-the-money decoding various gay chat phrases, we just had to share with you.

Emen8 writes, “Why do so many chats amount to nothing, or—worse—go on for weeks? It’s time to stop wasting data and start making the most of your apps. With a (very little) bit of intensive research and lot of lived experience, we’ve taken the guesswork out of meeting guys online.”

What he says: Hey / Sup? / Tap / Woof

What he means: Hello there. You are one of seventeen guys who just received this.
