Bottom Basics Celebrates LGBT Artists

Today, depictions of LGBT individuals in art is quite common. And many of you might be surprised to learn that homosexuality has been featured in visual art works as far back as ancient times (e.g., ancient Greek and Roman cultures). Unfortunately, over time, ancient art depicting men or women together was either been quietly suppressed or destroyed. Fortunately, in most of the world, this is no longer the case. Gay artists can create, express, and share just about any time of art they would like to share!

This next year, Bottom Basics will be celebrating queer art by featuring talented LGBT artists on our Instagram and Web Site blog. Be sure to be on the look out for these posts. There are many brilliant and talented artists out in the world, and we would love to you to get to know them as well as we do!

Oh, and for those who want to read more about the history of gay art, check out this super informative article from Gay Art History.
